Our leadership

Yorkshire Consortium for Equity in Doctoral Education

YCEDE co-leads CAREERS, bringing deep expertise in widening participation and equitable research training.

YCEDE is a pioneering collaboration between five Yorkshire universities: the University of Bradford, University of Leeds, University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University and the University of York, alongside more than a dozen external partners. YCEDE is dedicated to transforming access to postgraduate research for people of colour by addressing systemic barriers and creating lasting change. Through targeted scholarships, mentoring, skills development and reform of recruitment and doctoral education practices, YCEDE works to build a more inclusive and representative research community.

UK Terrestrial Evidence Partnership of Partnerships

UKTEPOP co-leads CAREERS, connecting 16  environmental & government organisations to share evidence and accelerate impact.

UKTEPOP is a coordinated initiative launched in 2017 and convened by the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC). It brings together organisations from across the UK to strengthen biodiversity monitoring through citizen and community science. Acting as an umbrella partnership, UKTEPoP provides a shared framework that aligns and unifies efforts among signatory organisations, including country nature bodies and conservation NGOs, across a wide range of monitoring schemes. Its work focuses on boosting collaboration, improving data quality and consistency, and driving innovation in the collection of environmental evidence.

Note: We use the terms People of Colour and Students of Colour respectfully, while recognising the limitations and complexities of these terms. We value the importance of acknowledging, respecting, and celebrating the cultural and ethnic identities of individuals within the broad categories they describe.
